Sst Champions performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 83 in student achievement, 91 in school progress and 91 in closing performance gaps. It scored 91 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Sst The Woodlands also performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A. The school posted 91 in student achievement, 88 in school progress, 94 in closing performance gaps and 92 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

Both schools garnered only five distinction designations or awards for outstanding performance. For Sst Champions these are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Social Studies, post-secondary and with 25% student progress while Sst The Woodlands secured in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Science, post-secondary, with 25% student progress and 25% closing performance gaps.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Sst Champions. They make up for 62.89% of student population, followed by African Americans (24.10%), Whites or Caucasians (5.54%), Asians (4.16%), Two or More Races (2.77%) and Native Americans (0.54%).

At Sst The Woodlands, Hispanics are the biggest group, comprising 63.15% of student population, followed by African Americans (16.28%), Whites or Caucasians (11.63%), Asians (6.44%) and Two or More Races (2.33%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.

Based on household incomes, Sst Champions’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 75.72% compared to 43.83% at Sst The Woodlands.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Sst Champions has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 31.75% of its student population compared to 19.86% at Sst The Woodlands.

Sst Champions’s bilingual students comprise 30.36%, gifted and talented students, 10.24%, while 14.16% are in the special education program. Sst The Woodlands bilingual students comprise 19.32%, gifted and talented students, 8.77%, and 9.48% are in the special education program.

98 teachers employed at Sst Champions have been teaching in the school for an average of about 2.3 years with individual teaching experience averaging 6.8 years. The 35 teachers at Sst The Woodlands have been serving the school for an average of 2.1 years with individual teaching experience averaging 10.1 years.

Of its teaching staff, Sst Champions has one teacher only serving the school for over 30 years, has three teachers serving the school for 20-30 years, 20 teachers have worked for 11-20 years, 19 teachers have worked for 6-10 years, while 50 teachers have been serving the school for over 1-5 years, including eight beginning teachers.
