Buyer Representation is usually a written agreement between a potential home buyer and licensed real estate professional. The agreement states that the real estate professional is obligated to use their best efforts to assist the home buyer in acquiring property within a market area. Additionally, the buyer's agent agrees to negotiate on behalf of the home buyer and comply with all legal obligations. Having a representation with a real estate professional ensures creates an agency relationship that with legal responsibilities that are owed to you as the home buyer.

It's best to HIRE a real estate agent by entering into a Buyer Representation Agreement.
