What should I do now?

Thank you for being apart of my first blog. My name is Greg Brown and I have been a real estate agent for about 5 months. When you first become an agent the first question you want to ask yourself is what do I do now. Without the proper guidance you may feel a bit lost. When I first got started I had some issues on not knowing the next step to setting my business up. Also it didn't help that my sponsor was from another state. Best thing to do is get with a Broker in your area that has sponsorship or mentorship for new agents. Your first 3 transactions closed your broker/sponsor will get a percentage of them but that's ok because the help you get from them is well worth it. Next I would recommend you get as much marketing and advertising material you can. From professional head shot, business cards, for sale signage and any online or social media flyers. This next step could of went before the last but hey we are almost there lol. One of the most important steps in my opinion is to Register with the National Association of Realtors & Houston Association of Realtors... And just know have a couple hundred saved so you can pay these very important fees. But one of the great perks of paying those HAR fees is being able to have the choice to choose to be a regular member or a platinum member. Another bit of advice; become a platinum member as soon as possible. it is a one time yearly fee but it gives you so many tools and resources to help you build your business the right way. Last but not least please take some of the free classes HAR provides. The one that stuck out the most for me was the course that teaches you how to use the HAR website to agents advantage.
