Grand Texas

Texas is, in general, bigger and better in everything if you ask any native. Keeping with that tradition is the idea behind Grand Texas Theme Park, a Texas sized entertainment venue under construction in New Caney in Montgomery county. Originally proposed to give those in the far north of Houston a family venue, the amusement park plans have grown to contain venues for dining, entertainment, sports, shopping and hospitality in addition to a waterpark and an adventure park when completed - all with a hint of Texas flair!

The Grand Texas RV park and the Speedzsportz Racing Park premiered the site when they were opened in 2016. The Big Rivers Waterpark and Gator Bayou Adventure Park will represent the next step when they open. Grand opening was originally set for June 29th, but with possible inclement weather, it has been delayed. Full completion of the 632-acre entertainment  district is estimated after 2020. Currently, Big Rivers boasts a lazy river and wave pool - with water slides under construction and will be 40-acres of fun when finished. The Gator Bayou adventure park features an inflatable water play area, in addition to a fishing area, bumper boats and an alligator exhibit.

Aside from family entertainment, Grand Texas brings jobs to our ever growing surrounding areas. An estimated 450 employees will be needed to operate Big Rivers and Gator Bayou by next summer, with an added 1,200 jobs opening when the theme park is completed - this doesn’t include estimates for positions within the outlet mall, 4 hotels, restaurants along the dining promenade or any other developments that might want to jump on this giant's back. Another tremendous possibility is the potential to the area of tourists - and with them an upswing of the local economy! Then much like a ferris wheel spins - the increases in jobs and economy attract more people, more residential developments are built, the increase in residents creates greater demand in entertainment, dining and shopping which opens more jobs…. And the wheel goes round; Bigger and better indeed. For updates on the Grand Opening and construction you can find the Grand Texas business page on Facebook
