Here I am sculpting an Island around the back side of a cluster of 3 standing dead Live Oaks. 

These trees most likely perished in the 1950's drought. Or, it is possible that they were drowned by the initial creation of the lake.  The original full water line extended from the excavated bank located to the left in this photo, around the bases of these trees and over to the duck blind that is out of site in this photo to the right.

Dirt moved from the Lagoon area was deposited here to a height of approximately 4 feet.   Once "flooded in" the Island will actually "settle", being approximately water level, at full lake level.  Reference Blog post "TROPHY BASS LAKE ENHANCEMENT - Creating A Wetland Wildlife Sanctuary 4 & 5
