Why Is Walden Such A great Place To Live?

Walden is a lake side community is located on a tree-lined peninsula with over 5,200 dwellings. This friendly community was constructed around a 21,000-acre lake completed in 1973. A total of 5,000 acres of Lake Conroe are located within the Sam Houston National Forest.

When driving through the neighborhood you will find estates, single-family homes, patio homes, townhouses, and condominiums. The homes are well-kept, the landscaping is always impeccable and they even have street sweepers who come through regularly. There are crosswalks for bikers, walkers and joggers and sidewalks down the main road through Walden.

We have a privately owned 536-slip marina, as well as a privately owned 18 hole golf course, The Walden Golf Club. The Racquet Club and Fitness Center has a 16-court tennis facility, pickle ball, a Olympic sized lap pool, a fitness center and hike & bike trails located in the neighborhood.

Walden is centered around community events for the whole family, athletic competitions and volunteer opportunities. Walden also has their own baseball and soccer practice fields. We have a playground and a dog park located next to each other, both fenced. Residents have access to two boat ramps within Walden. The second, Olympic-size swimming pool, and two kiddie pools overlook Lake Conroe with amazing views of the water. In the summer time, drinks and food can be served poolside by Breakwater Grill.

Walden also has a couple other restaurants located inside the neighborhood. Walden's Lakeview Dining & Venue offers a classic upper dining experience, since 1972. It was the first restaurant built on Lake Conroe, so the panoramic views are one of a kind. Their executive chef offers an elegant dining experience that is top notch.

Lake Conroe Cafe on the Green is a great place to grab a bite. They call themselves a hidden gem within the Community of Walden. They have great food and specials weekly, and don't forget to visit their martini night!

Madeley Ranch Elementary is located within the neighborhood. You will often find kids being dropped off to school on golf carts, which is pretty cool. Montgomery Jr. High is not far up the road, about 4 miles from Walden and Montgomery High School is approximately 8 miles away and both are fantastic schools.
