At Jo & Co., we love exploring our communities and we love all things coffee! I mean, how else are you supposed to be productive and manage life responsibilities all in one day!? Today we are at Blockhouse Coffee and Kitchen located in Richmond, TX, one of two locations. Not only are they a coffee shop, but a cafe for community as they say.
They strive to create an intimate, family friendly, communal space that brings people together. Blockhouse offers only the best goods from local producers, artisans and artists. They feature their products on the menu and as displays on the shelves and walls of the coffee shop. There are events that are held year-round, at both locations, to allow local craftsmen to showcase their talents and to interact with the community.
Whether you’re catching up with an old friend, need to get work done, relax or shop for local products, this is the place to do it! From the second you walk in, you are welcomed by the smell of their fresh coffee and food, greeted by a smiling face and surrounded by members of the community. They also offer loose-leaf teas, frappes, matcha lattes and so much more. But don’t forget about their food! From breakfast tacos and avocado toast to adult grilled cheese and salads- they have it all.
In supporting other local businesses, Blockhouse’s coffee is delivered weekly by two of Greater Houston’s finest roasters who source beans from all over the world and roast them to their highest potential. Their current offerings feature a mix of Amaya Roasting Company and their own private-label Blockhouse brand, roasted by Tenfold Coffee.
Blockhouse Coffee is a great place to make connections and shop the items from local businesses and artists while indulging in a fresh cup of coffee and blueberry muffin. Behind their amazing coffee is an amazing company whose mission is to create community and support other local small businesses.
