Hard-working, determined, and friendly, Amy Nabors is passionate about listening to her clients’ wants and needs and finding the home that meets them. A former high school math teacher, she says that the educator in her helps her to coach clients in the process of buying or selling a home so that they understand all aspects of the transaction and can make informed decisions. Working with sellers, Amy possesses a particular talent for “staging” homes and offering tips and solutions to show listings in their best light to make them more marketable. She has earned the professional designation as a Certified Home Marketing Specialist (CHMS). Through this coursework, Amy’s talents were fine-tuned and she learned how to better position properties to compete in today’s market.
Amy comes by all this talent naturally. To quote her, “It’s all I've ever known growing up!” Her father, Mark Ellis, has been a top producing Realtor for 33 years, while her husband, Clint Nabors, another top producer, and her mother, Catherine Ellis, have been real estate professionals for over 16 years. Needless to say, it is in her blood, and it was a surprise to no one when she finally decided to get her license, which she says was a breeze considering she’d grown up in the business.
In 2009, the four of them joined forces to form the Ellis-Nabors Team. All who know them agree they are a dynamic force with a multitude of talents that better serve all their clients’ needs. They mutually agree, “Superior service is our focus!” and they work hard to exceed the expectations of every client. These highly motivated agents say, “We love working with people and enjoy helping them purchase their dream home.”
Whether working with buyers or sellers, the team puts their clients’ needs first, and they are diligent about maintaining good follow-up. Friendly and funny, they are a pleasure to work with, but they maintain the highest standards at all times. The team had 187 closed transactions in 2014 and closed $47 million in sales volume! This stellar performance earned them well-deserved spots on both of Houston Business Journal’s lists, Gross Dollar Volume and Number of Closed Transactions, for 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, dedicated to Houston’s “Top 25 Residential Real Estate Teams” – a crowning achievement!
The Ellis-Nabors Team is principally focused on Cypress and Northwest Houston but has roots in the community throughout Greater Houston and they are ably assisted in this endeavor by team manager and licensed associate, Karen Zientek, team listing coordinator and team accountant, Diann Nabors, in addition to licensed agents, Ainsley Curry and Amy’s younger sister, Katie Ellis Dufour.
Very detailed-oriented, Amy believes in the importance of working hard to get it right. This is evident in her success as a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Baylor University, where she was awarded “Mathematics Education Major of The Year.” Amy is also a person of strong Christian faith; putting God as the head of her life, family and business keeps her grounded and focused. She loves volunteering and traveled to Africa this summer with her church through Family Legacy to minister to orphans in Zambia. She volunteers with the children's ministry at her church, Harvest Bible. Amy has been involved as a PTO member at Swenke Elementary where her children attended, and has served as Vice President on the PTO board for the 2012-2013 school year, and is currently serving on the CPOC committee at Swenke as a local business representative. She also currently volunteers and stays active in Rosehill Christian School, where her children attend.
“I love being around people and helping others,” she says, “so I enjoy serving on committees and taking on leadership positions. It’s very satisfying and helps me meet so many people!”
