Charles is a real estate entrepreneur who brings an impressive set of credentials and life experiences to his career. A graduate of Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and a minor in Physics, Charles also interned at NASA during the Apollo space program.
When the aerospace budget was cut in the early 1970s, Charles turned his focus to real estate and has been perfecting those skills ever since. For over two decades, he pursued a successful career as a real estate appraiser, specializing in the valuation of residential properties for the relocation industry.
While still working as an appraiser, he began helping his Realtor wife, Dorothy McDermott in her residential sales career by assisting her with value analyses and marketing plans. By 2002, this experience ultimately evolved into a full time residential sales career for Charles, and he has never looked back.
As a native Houstonian, he is very familiar with real estate markets throughout the entire metropolitan area; and his 20 years of appraisal experience, plus 7 years in corporate relocation, gives Charles an extra “edge” in this competitive market. Charles’ expertise in accessing home values and creating effective marketing strategies has served him well.
“My philosophy is to provide clients with all the information necessary to make wise and informed decisions,” says Charles. “Thanks to my background, I believe I’m able to provide honest objectivity in difficult situations and ensure that all parties are treated fairly.”
With the family ranch near Cat Spring, Austin County and Dorothy being a native of Brenham he is uniquely qualified to assist with his clients country property needs as well, especially in Washington and Austin counties.
As devoted as he is to real estate and ranching, Charles is also passionate about soccer. For 40 years, he has played soccer with the Houston United Soccer Club and is past president of both that club and the Houston Football Association, the men's ssoccer league.
