I just posted a ? but figured show do ?'s seprate. Moving from FL to Houston area and am wondering:
1. I do not find anything in lease re move-out "condition", have been here 4 yrs and from reading earlier post re: to paint, I feel no. But, what about washing walls???
2. Ceiling fans, do they need to be cleaned/dust free? Asking as I will be the only one here as hubby is leaving this Mon to start new job
3. Blinds, we installed most of them, do they need to be cleaned, if so, since we purchased them, can I just "trash" them or ask whether they want them (current mgr) vs trashing
4. We had to clean the windows, in & out when we moved in. Do I have to do them before leaving/exit walk-thru (I am planning on doing the inside in any event but it's the outside I would rather not have to do!)
That's it for now, will probably remember more once I hit submit, which is the way things always happen w/me..Oh I should have asked.........Will post if (when) I think of more. Again, thx for your time and consideration,
Christine See just thought of another, is there a good source to check out the "safety" of neighborhoods/areas since we are moving to Houston area, the "unknown" for us! Looking at Spring, Tomball, Willis, Conroe, Cypress, Waller, etc

Hi Christine,

You are required to leave the house in the same state as you found it minor normal wear and tear. A deep clean of the house is prudent event if the house was not 100% clean when you moved in.
Normal wear and tear can be subjective so it is better for you to be on the safe side.

You really should consult your lease. You normally do have to leave the property in the same condition you received it except for normal wear and tear.

Regarding location let your Agent know about your area of interest, she should be able to help you.

I answered most of these questions in a previous question/post. All improvements to the home should be left in the home. Ask the landlord/owner but my advice would be to leave the blinds.

Christine,

Your realtor that you are working with is going to be the best source of real estate information.

As far as move out condition. Return the property to the same (or better) condition it was in when you moved in. A good clean usually does the trick unless there are damages to the property. To answer your questions cleaning all the things you mentioned would definitely be a good idea. Look over your inventory and condition form that you should have filled out as well as the pictures/video you took when moving in to verify the condition upon move in (especially when living in a place for long term). Normal wear and tear is expected.

As far as areas to live in: This should be discussed with your agent. She should be aware of the areas you are interested in and if not she should refer you to an agent in the area.

Hope this helps.
