School bells will soon be ringing around campuses in Montgomery ISD. Students are saying goodbye to summer days and teachers are hard at work preparing for the beginning of the school year. Here are a few basic tips to have a successful start!

  1. Establish routines! Getting back into routines for dinner, bedtime, and homework will help everyone start the day fresh.

  2. Stress free mornings! Avoid the morning "rush" by staying calm and positive. It will  the tone for a great day for you and your child.

  3. Get to know your child's teachers. Stay involved and feel free to contact your child's teacher with questions or concerns. Don't talk negatively about your child's teachers or school.

  4. Know what is expected of your child this year. Teach your children to be responsible for their actions and schoolwork.

  5. READ, READ, READ! Read with them, read to them, or listen to them read every night!
