I have a client that just purchased some rental properties and is wanting to protest taxes... What could he bring that would be influential in getting tax protest approved?

Several of my clients use Premier Property Tax to do the protest for them. They charge 50% of any savings they are able to procure for you.

The best way to protest taxes is online - at least to start. If the properties are in Harris County he can use the iSettle online system. If a property was purchased for less than the appraisal district is showing, the HUD is a good resource to have on hand and has been successful for some of my clients in the past. HOWEVER, if your client "just bought" the property he won't be listed on the tax rolls. For the iSettle system he would need the property tax information that is on the notification that was sent out. A phone call to the appropriate agency might be the best step or print the forms online to file.
