HAR ANNOUNCES RECOMMENDED CANDIDATE WOODY OWENS FOR PEARLAND CITY COUNCIL POSITION 7

HOUSTON – (June 1, 2017) – The Houston Association of Realtors (HAR) Board of Directors has announced its decision to support Woody Owens for Pearland City Council Position 7 in the Saturday, June 10 Pearland runoff election. HAR Bay Area Political Affairs Advisory Leadership Chair Misty Bacon applauded Woody for reaching the runoff election in a crowded field of six candidates.  “We are thrilled to recommend Woody Owens to our members,” said Bacon. “His previous experience on Pearland City Council, his commitment to the community and his engineering background will make him a welcomed addition to the larger council."

Mr. Owens has lived in Pearland for 27 years and previously served on Pearland City Council for 12. A Navy veteran, he has over 40 years of planning and development experience for various cities and 15 years of serving on boards of professional and service organizations.

Houston Realtors are involved in the political process at all levels of government promoting policies and supporting candidates who advocate for property rights and home ownership in the city of Pearland. Electing public officials who understand property owners’ concerns and act accordingly is the Association’s top priority.

Early voting is happening now and runs through Tuesday, June 6. Election Day is Saturday, June 10.
