My name is Lisa Heide and I've been into real estate most of my adult life, though officially a Realtor since 2021. After millions of dollars in personal real estate transactions, and finding myself unemployed after our daughter went to college, I realized I should formally pursue my passion in real estate. It was a great decision. Born and raised in Los Angeles, with a five year stint in Manhattan, our family moved to Houston in 2014 when my husband's corporate headquarters relocated here. We definitely made the right choice, especially for real estate values as our money went much further in Texas than it did in California. The woman who helped us find our home in Houston (Deborah Breuleux, also with Gary Greene) was that rare realtor who had no personal agenda. All she aspired to do was find us a home that we all loved. Her relaxed demeanor, preparation and attention to detail allowed us to narrow in on the neighborhoods, schools and homes that fit our lifestyle even though we only had a short time to find a home. I am lucky to be able to call Deborah my mentor. Prior to having our daughter, I was a childrens' Social Worker. The populations I worked with included homeless women in NYC, abused and neglected kids in California, pregnant and parenting teens and finally approving foster parents. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from UCLA, and a Master's from USC. Yes, I am aware they are rivals. As a social worker, with teen clients, I learned how to listen intently, problem solve and use my wicked and sometimes inappropriate sense of humor to defuse tense situations. It taught me the importance of advocating on behalf of others as many of these kids had nobody to call Mom or Dad. It was a joy to watch these girls grow up and raise their little ones while they also navigated their own personal stories.
