Thousands of dedicated and brave athletes from around the world will be headed to The Woodlands, TX to compete in the inaugural Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas on May 21,2011.
This world-class event is one of the toughest endurance races on the planet! Athletes begin with a 2.4-mile swim in Lake Woodlands. Next is a 112-mile bike course. Then after all of that they end with a 26.2-mile run course through The Woodlands. The course concludes with a spectacular finish on Market Street!
65 participants will earn coveted slots to the 2011 Ford Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Additionally, there will be a price purse of $100,000 for the top professional male and female finishers.

Since the event brings so many people, Hotels throughout the area have been booked for months. If you or anyone you know was unable to secure a room, you're in luck! We will have one or two 4-bedroom houses available to rent for the weekend.

In addition to the race, WTC will host an event expo at the Ironman Village in the northeast parking lot of The Woodlands Town Center. All athletes, residents and visitors are invited to stop by on Wednesday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Friday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a special Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas pre-race press
