The Rooster in Copperfield Closes – Reopens as H S Chinese Restaurant

Long time Copperfield restaurant The Rooster appears to have closed and opened under a new name, HS Cafe.  I was driving by today and noticed they had a banner out for a Grand Opening. The new name on the outside says H S Chines Restaurant.  We moved to the Cy-Fair area in 1985 and the Rooster was open then. It was the only restaurant still in business in Copperfield that dates to that time period.  The Rooster was is remembered by many for its long time waitress who always gruff and sometimes rude, but loved by many long time customers.  Google The Rooster in Copperfield and you get the website for HS Cafe.

There is new Chinese restaurant directly across West Rd. from the Rooster, called China Inn Cafe which has pretty good food.  The competition for customers must have been a little too intense for The Rooster.   I am curious if any of the old staff from The Rooster will still be working there.
