Realtor Hours

Different Realtors® have different hours.  I like to tell my clients right up front the hours I work.  My hours are 9:00AM – 5:00PM Monday through Friday, evenings and Saturdays by appointment only.  I have found that if I don’t let people know how I work than I get calls at crazy times.  I have gotten phone calls at 11:00 at night and 6:00 in the morning.  Can you imagine if that happened every day?  That is why I set regular work hours.  That doesn’t mean that I’m not taking care of my clients (check my client satisfaction rating).  I have systems in place that help me so that I don’t have to work 14 hour days.  Really, who does that?

I have a very good Realtor® friend who from noon to 8:00.  She’s just not a morning person and those hours work very well for her and her clients.  The important thing is that she lets them know upfront how she works. 

To my fellow Realtors® out there, why do you tell people that you are available 24 hours a day?  I hear that from other Realtors® all the time.  It’s impossible and unnecessary.  Nobody really works 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  Please set your hours so that your clients are not disappointed when they call and you don’t answer.
