Aggressive Dog Breeds

Most landlords restrict aggressive breeds due to insurance carrier guidelines. Restricted breeds typically include:

  • Pit Bull–Type Dogs: Includes American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and American Bulldogs.
  • Rottweilers.
  • German Shepherds.
  • Doberman Pinschers.
  • Chow Chows.
  • Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes: Sometimes restricted due to high energy levels, vocal nature, and potential for destructive behavior in confined spaces.
  • Akitas.
  • Wolf Hybrids.
  • Mastiffs and Cane Corsos: Restricted due to large size and protective nature.
  • Great Danes: Often restricted due to their immense size, even though they are known as "gentle giants".

Please keep in mind that restrictions may vary amongst different landlords.
