She joined The House Company, a well known successful Galveston boutique brokerage, in 2005. In May 2021 The House Company became a Better Homes & Gardens Gary Greene office. Tanya is a member of the Galveston Association of Realtors as well as the Houston Association (HAR), the National Association, and the Texas Realtors. Tanya has served on the Galveston Association's Board of Directors and as the 2012 Chairman of the Galveston MLS committee. She was elected as the 2018 President of the Galveston Association of Realtors. Tanya currently serves as the local representative on the Texas Realtors State Board of Directors. Tanya was honored as the 2012 Realtor of the Year for the Galveston Association of Realtors. She has been awarded the Five Star Realtor Award by Texas Monthly magazine for several years. Tanya has earned the special designation of Certified Residential Specialist, the highest designation awarded to Realtors in the residential sales field. She has also earned the e-Pro certification and the Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI) designation. In 2014 she earned the Galveston Island Certified Tourism Ambassador designation.
