I am native of Hong Kong and have lived in U.S. for 25 years. My family and I moved to the Woodlands where we’ve raised our three children. My corporate background began in advertising & marketing for the Hong Kong Mass Railway Transit (MRT) interacting with clients. Our family has been fortunate to have spent 2 expatriate “tours of duty” in Singapore where I was actively involved in real estate property investment.

Originally from China, Xiuyan has been a resident of The Woodlands since 2008 and has developed a great affinity for the area and all that it has to offer! After living in the United States for 15 years, she has resided in multiple cities and communities across the country, but has yet to experience the same connection that she has with The Woodlands area. She particularly appreciates the community’s natural environment, its amenities and conveniences, school, weather, and the relatively low living costs. Prior to real estate, Xiuyan had been quite successful academically. She earned her BE and PhD degrees in prestigious chemical engineering programs offered by Tsinghua University in China and the University of Minnesota, respectively. After having children, however, Xiuyan decided to stay at home to raise them for the last eight years. With a desire to get back to work while still raising her children, Xiuyan opted to pursue a career in real estate due to its flexible hours and minimal travel.

Then lastly to the Huffman area since 2001 where my 3 children grew up, graduated high school and I'm proud to say, so far, 2 of the three have graduated college. My third one is getting close!

I have begun my first steps as an empty-nester. Like many people, I am trying to decide what to do next, when to do it and how. Do we stay in the big house or move to downsize? What about the grand kids?

I appreciate and understand all of these dilemmas.

On the other hand, having young, adult, employed children and their friends needing their first home, I am involved with the joys, excitement and responsibilities of becoming a first-time home buyer. It's so much fun!

What is my forte in real estate? This question comes up often. I think it's the diversity that comes with all parts of buying and selling your first home, you last home, and/or your in between home. And let's not forget the fun of having your dream home built from the ground up. How could I choose to specialize in one area over the other? After almost 20 years experience, I still like to do it all. Being a Realtor is rewarding and sometimes a little challenging but always worth it.
