Past volunteer commitments include the chairing of the International Festival at Mark Twain Elementary, distributing monthly HOA newsletters on foot, and serving lunches at the Church in the Center. Present commitments include volunteering in the West University Baptist Church Wednesday night program, being on the worship team, the childcare team and the greeter team at the Church in the Center, as well as being the National Night Out Chair for the Braeswood Place Homeowner's Association. Originally from Venezuela, with an engineering background and a passion for home decoration, Raquel established an interior design practice in her hometown focusing in creating stylish and playful baby nurseries and children bedrooms.
