For this longtime Houstonian, real estate was just in her genes. Melisa Billingsley Herring learned and participated in the market with her mother who held a broker%u219s license before getting her own license in 2003. Before getting her real estate license, she worked many years in sales and marketing, including the petrochemical industry. Her outgoing personality helps her in marketing homes successfully and bringing buyers and sellers together for a smooth transaction.

Beginning at a young age, Melisa was able to travel the world and experience many different cultures. In fact, the first 10 years of her life were spent living in Southeast Asia. Her travel experience opened her eyes and created her love of different cultures, lifestyles and home styles. She continues giving by supporting many local charities.

I moved to Houston, Texas in 1980. My career began in real estate when the oil companies started laying off employees. Rather than waiting on a pink slip, I made the move. Along with the lay-offs came the foreclosures! After a couple of years of working for local and out of state bank institutions, I took a position with an out of state investment company. I served as the Vice President for over ten years managing, selling and leasing residential property! I have never focused on one area, as I go where my clients go. If they want to buy a home in Friendswood, I spend time and educate myself on that market. I have sold property in Houston, Friendswood, Missouri City, Clearlake.
