Born and raised in Houston, I have spent the majority of my life becoming well acquainted with all things Houston. After graduating from The University of Texas in Austin with a BS in Nutrition, I began my career as a dietitian. After a short time, I decided to go back for a little more schooling, this time traveling a little more north, to Hyde Park, New York at the Culinary Institute of America, where I earned a degree in Culinary Arts. With two degrees in hand I continued a 22 year career working in all areas of the food industry, for the Los Angeles School District, and in community nutrition programs at the Houston Food Bank.
