WHAT SEPARATES CHAMBERS SURVEYING AND MAPPING FROM OTHER SURVEYORS
“There are not a lot of survey companies in chambers and Liberty County where we work. probably the fact that we do farm, ranch, and rural type surveys. We have our records from several of the older companies that use to be in chambers County and so we have information that other survey companies would not. There’s only a couple of companies in the county that I’m aware of right now. Me as of one, but there’s so much work that if it’s a problem area, most people will by word of mouth get with me to go do these sorts of things. You have property around here that
haven’t been surveyed in a long time. With everything moving from Houston it’s difficult if you’re not a rural type surveyor and your use to the concrete jungle that’s fine. A lot of people come out here and it’s more difficult so I guess that’s what separates me.”

HOW IS THE SPREAD OF HOUSTON EFFECTING THE EAST?
” Just keeps us busy. A lot of the developments coming from Houston are the subdivision type developments. Of cores with the Barbers Hill and Anahuac school districts, a lot of people are following the flow of people with the school districts. On the west side of Houston, it’s pretty much tapped out. There not a lot of room to go so they’re coming over here because of the interstate and the Trinity River Bridge. I don’t know if you remember back when it was the old bridge. It was kind of difficult because it wasn’t 3 lanes all the way to Beaumont. That and the tunnel is no more, now we have the Fred Hartman Bridge”
