- Refinish or paint the cabinets, and dress them up with new drawer pulls, knobs and hinges.
- Install new lighting fixtures to brighten up the kitchen. If you have the older style box lighting consider opting to add recessed can lights, or pendant lighting over islands or bar tops. Make sure all of the fixtures metals match. The styles can vary to customize the look.
- Replace the sink if it has chips or permanent stains. A nice upgrade would be a deeper sink at least 8" deep.
- Spruce up the sink area with a new faucet to create a more up-to-date look. Be sure to match the plumbing fixtures to the metal tones of the lighting.
