?Fall brings cooler weather, so here is a Pumpkin Chai Latte recipe to enjoy on those lovely October mornings or evenings. This latte can also be enjoyed iced! Just cool the chai and pumpkin mixture and serve over ice. A great option for my Texas friends, since we have a very short Fall/Winter season.
Pumpkin Chai Latte ?
Ingredients: For the Chai Concentrate: 2 cups water 2 chai tea bags (or 2 tablespoons loose chai tea) 1 cinnamon stick 3-4 whole cloves 3-4 green cardamom pods (slightly crushed) 1-2 slices of fresh ginger (or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger) Sweetener of choice (honey, sugar, or maple syrup)
For the Pumpkin Mixture: 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy) 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup (or sweetener of choice) 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (or a mix of cinnamon and nutmeg)
Instructions: Make the Chai Concentrate: In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the chai tea bags, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom pods, and ginger. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and strain the tea into a bowl, discarding the solids. Sweeten to taste and set aside.
Prepare the Pumpkin Mixture: In a separate saucepan, combine the pumpkin puree, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice. Heat over medium-low heat, whisking continuously until warm and smooth. Combine: In a large mug, mix 1/2 cup of the chai concentrate with 1/2 cup of the pumpkin mixture. Adjust to taste depending on your preference for chai or pumpkin flavor.
Froth (Optional): If you have a frother, froth the latte mixture for a creamy texture. You can also blend it for a few seconds for a frothy finish. Serve: Pour into a mug, and if desired, sprinkle a little extra pumpkin pie spice on top. Enjoy warm! Tips: For a stronger chai flavor, let the tea steep longer. Feel free to adjust the sweetness and spice to your liking.
Enjoy your homemade Pumpkin Chai Latte. Perfect for cozy Fall days! #HappyFall #WelcomeOctober #Pumpkin #PumpkinSpiceLatte
