Check your mailbox...Harris County Appraisal District has began to mail out the property value notices. Over the next 3 weeks, current property owners can expect to receive their updated property value from HCAD.
Taxable values in Harris County results:
-30% of property owners will experience a decrease in property value
-60% of property values will remain the same
-Fewer than 10% of property owners will see an increase in property value
Review the notice once it arrives, and if you disagree you do have the option to protest the assessed value for your property. Property owners can begin the protest process immediately after receiving the notice. HCAD recommends you utilize their online iFile program at www.hcad.org
