When that special day comes when you have found the perfect match made in heaven, head, and heart, where would you like to have your matrimonial celebration to be?  Destination wedding, the church, pastor's study, city hall, a beautiful backdrop of the ocean, a countryside vineyard, or simple chic in a fenced-in backyard?  I love beautiful weddings and God knows, I've been a bridesmaid in plenty of them.  Dreaming of my own walk down the aisle hasn't formalized into a full dream scene of where and how.  Some people have wedding portfolios and fully scaled and planned ideas on what that day will include.  Outdoor weddings are a favorite for me.  I've attended a beautiful Rose garden wedding and sweetly watched as a very good friend married her longtime sweetheart in a fabulously ornate Catholic church setting with gorgeous stained glass windows and polished wood and stone dressings about.  The best weddings include a beautiful setting whether it is a simple venue or wondrously grand location and the apparent love between the two joining their lives and hearts.

Say Yes to the Dress is one of my favorite binge-worthy shows. The joy that weddings bring in tradition and cultural choices that also have a unique personality based on the bride and groom's preferences makes everything worth the wait to see it all unfold as well as a pleasure to witness such love and unity between partners.  The wedding venue business has to be a fun one, even when brides AND grooms can be quite picky and difficult when it comes to making plans for their special day.  I think it makes it all even more interesting.  Because at the end of the day, love always wins no matter what the world is giving us in woes, worries, and in the 'fit' to make life work out for the best... yes, love reigns supreme.

I have tried on a wedding dress once for kicks and wonder as I begin to open up more to the idea of actually seeing myself in a dream scenario that actually included me.  Even then, a white dress {insert side-eye emoji} and bouquet were far fetched ideas that a non-girly girl like me hadn't yet visualized in my mind's eye to what a ceremony would look like and where would it be.  Ahhh, but love.  The means to an end in love and loving well probably means it doesn't matter so much where and how...but then again, maybe it does. Who's included?  Is there an open bar?  Who is the dj?  Is there good food? Did they write their own vows? Are there rings exchanged or maybe ring finger tattoos?  The cultural differences in traditions of matrimonial ceremonies are interesting. The customs and generational traditions that we learn about, like jumping the broom, stomping a glass, money envelopes, and all that stuff that are wonderful blessings to make it official and shower a new couple with more love. Maybe your backyard and home is the spot where wedding bliss and fellowship is desirably simple and wonderfully made for the perfect wedding day.

Below I'm listing some local wedding venues and ideas that might be interesting and useful.  Would you hire a wedding consultant and event planner or would you ask your best buddy or cousin who happens to be great at that kind of stuff to help you make the dream day a realization?  At any rate, that day should be special.  Couples planning to marry and have a great day on the day of their wedding should have help and shouldn't burden themselves with too much of the details of the planning so that they can actually enjoy and be relaxed on the day of the ceremony.  Also, brides and groomsmen don't always know their roles and the expectations of the bride and groom as part of a wedding party.  Maybe it's okay to simply show up, dressed in the required garb on the day of the wedding to stand up and walk down the aisle to represent on behalf of the love of loved ones.  Perhaps there are more requirements in tradition and relationship that should be addressed and understood to ensure the day is all that the loving couple desires and deserves.   Peace and love abound, 2021 is here and we are saying YES to each and every blessing that this year gifts us with. With humble expectations of greatness, one love.
