When I was a little girl, all I wanted was to ride horses and be around them as much as possible. As I grew older, that dream evolved into something simple but meaningful-having a piece of land of my own with a barn, a few horses, and maybe even some chickens. To me, breathing in fresh country air always felt like the very best way to call a place home.

Growing up, we moved around quite a bit because my dad was in the military. But for one special year, we lived out in the country. My dad had a horse, and we even kept chickens. I absolutely loved it. That experience stayed with me. No matter where we lived afterward, I always found a way to be around horses and learn from them. It was therapy for me and my happy place.

Then life moved into its next chapter. I went to school, built a career, became a wife, and followed my husband's path as his career took us where we needed to go. That journey brought us to Houston, where my family and I have now lived for nearly 30 years while raising our kids and focusing on work and school.
