HISD's K-12 School Choice Application for 2026-27 Closes Feb. 27th!

Don't miss it!!!! HISD's K-12 school choice Phase I application for the 2026-27 academic year where families can apply to the district's magnet schools and specialized programs will close on Feb. 27th.

The School Choice Process allows you to apply for specialty programs and campuses across the entire district. Applications are accepted in two phases annually: 

February 27: K-12 school choice Phase I  Applications close.

• Phase I (Recommended): Apply during this window for the best chance to secure a seat at your top-ranked school via our lottery system. 
• Phase II: Available for remaining seats and families new to the district. See link below. 

April 17: Pre-K Applications close.

While you may apply in both phases, you do not need to apply in Phase II if you are satisfied with your Phase I application.
