Just wanted to give you guys some updates on things going on around the office.

Wednesday my team sat down with our marketing director and these are some new things we’d like to update you on.

Trulia Pro and Trulia Local Ads

Trulia.com is a real estate search engine, utilized by over 6 million people. For a long time we have had an account with Trulia where we upload our listings. Wednesday, I upgraded Rick’s Trulia account to Pro status. This is a monthly paid subscription that gives us an added advantage over the free users.

Our listings are branded in the top right hand corner which helps people who look at our properties, get a hold of us easier. They don’t have to fish around the bottom for contact information. For example, below is what our listing at 24815 Laurel Chase looks like.

The Pro account also allows us to feature our listings at the top of the search results. I did a basic search for single family homes in Katy, TX between 200,000-225,000 with 3 bedrooms, and this is what I got… PLEASE NOTE TWO THINGS!

First note, our listing came up second. As a featured listing, ours get priority in searches when they meet the general criteria. Secondly, in the bottom right hand corner you’ll notice our listing again. We have purchased Local Ad space on Trulia.com that again features our listings when people search in certain areas and zip codes.

The ads actually flip through all of our current listings and connect searchers to our website if they see something they like and end up clicking on it. Trulia Local Ads are also a monthly subscription and a way we have decided to get more internet exposure for our listings.

Postlets.com

This is a great little site that I found where I can upload our property information and they generate ads for posting on craigslist and other sites. Here is an example of a posting we have on Craigslist for our listing at 7603 Colson Way. Bare with me, I had to take it in three shots because it is a really tall ad.

Here’s the top of the ad with the outside property photo, list price and basic information.

Here’s the mid-section of that ad that highlights it’s features and then shows us some interior photos.

This last part shows the rest of the photos and brands our contact information at the bottom, so that if they are interested they can easily contact us.

These postlets help save a considerable amount of time for me. I re-post all of our listings on a weekly basis and with this program all I have to do is paste the html code that is generated by postlets and I’m done! No more need to sit there and upload individual pictures. Not to mention, craigslist only allows 4 poor resolution photos. With postlets I can upgraded our priority listings to Pro status, which is a paid feature that I have set up with their company that allows us up to 18 high-resolution photos in our ads.

If we have a property that has been upgraded to Pro status on postlets, it also generates a website for that listing with property information, photo slide show, neighborhood information, etc.
