Good morning everyone, as my first post I wanted to start out with a morning Hello, and I know that without coffee morning's can be the worst part of the day. I mean who really wants to get out of the cozy state of mind, and hit that snooze button a few times, or even just throw the dang alarm against the wall?!

Well, I use to not be an a morning person at all, I would stay up late and then sleep 10+ hours and waste the majority of the day [granted I was in college, and didn't have the corporate job], but when it came time to graduate and grow up, my word... Waking up and getting to work on time was a catastrophe. But, I grew out of those habits slowly but surely and I just wanted to share those habits with you if you care to read on.

And before I suggest these things, obviously you are your own person, and these suggestions may not be for you, but they definitely improved my lifestyle and could be a bridge to get you into your own routine or think of ways to get out of those bad habits.

  • Firsty, the night before any good sleep try to not eat after 9 P.M. Clearly, sometimes are lifestyle may not prohibit, so that is why I say at least try not to. As well, as dinner should be a light meal nothing too packed with calories. That will make you feel bloated in the morning, and also make you just want to hibernate.
  • Having that said, try not to eat that 1/2 pint of Ben&Jerry's or your favorit sweet, after 9 P.M. and consider just having one cheat day to not tack on all of those calories.
  • Read for thirty minutes to an hour before going to sleep and not watiching the tube. Try a magazine, paper, or book, try to avoid reading from your phone, Ipad, computer, any technological device...  I don't want to get all scientific, but research has provided that the roll of  light emitted from a device can create wakefulness.  https://sleepfoundation.org/ask-the-expert/electronics-the-bedroom
  • In the morning start off slow... Push your alarm 10-15 minutes back until geting to your goal wake-up time. Also, for you dead sleepers, or snoozer's; try putting your phone or alarm on the opposite side of the room this way you have to get up to turn off.
  • Stretch, to get yourself going.
  • Have a dog, take the guy or gal on a walk or run around the neighborhood! They will love you for it!
  • Try to get at least a 30 minute work-out in, it will make you feel great, and the day will be just even better!
  • Eat a nice hearty breakfast.
    • Get some fruit and veggies in (make a smoothie)
      • Will be another topic soon.
    • Steel-Cut Oatmeal with 1/2 cupberries, bananas, any fruit to your preference...
    • 1 cup of Non-Fat Yogurt (try to get plain) with oats, a dash of honey and cinnamon, with 1/2 cup fruit.
    • 1 cup of Quinoa, 1/2 cup berries. 1/2 cup Almond or Cashew Milk, dash of cinnamon.
    • 2-3 Eggs depending on your size and if you are wanting to bulk up I reccommend 6 eggs. I say it is nice to mix up on days and do some egg whites, and of course for me scrambled, but if you like over-whatever, or pached then go for it! Add a little spinach, mixed greens or arugla in there to add a bit flavor and get your daily greens in. Add some toast in there lighly buttered or jammed. Grains are good for you in moderation... helps your brain grow!
  • Of course coffee or tea to get a litle caffeine and get your engine going!
  • Try to read some news or watch the news while eating.

Like I said, you don't have to follow my regiment but if anything hopefully gave you a nice guideline to start off with.
