Harris County Homestead Form, have you mailed it in yet?

If you are reading this and not knowing what your next step is to file your Homestead Exemption (your Realtor should have already reminded you), the first thing to do is to complete a real property search to look up your property address to confirm that you are the current owner of record within the Harris County Appraisal District (HCAD). 

Once you have confirmed HCAD has you as the current owner of record and the property is your homestead (you are only allowed one in the state of Texas) click here to complete the homestead exemptions form.

Now that you have this pulled up....call your Realtor if you have any questions on how to complete the form, you may have to reach out to HCAD or if you worked with me within your home buying process in 2020, you can ignore this blog completely!
