"I do not know the area. Is this a safe neighborhood? What is the crime rate here? I have little kids, are there any sex offenders living nearby?" These are the regular questions that I encountered from buyers or tenants looking for a home who are new to the area.

A good website to check out the crime or sex offenders living in an area would be Crime Report - The National Crime Map. You simply need to put in an address of a particular home that you might be interested in and all the crimes for the past 3 day, 7 days, 14 days or 30 days surrounding that area will show up. The website is very user friendly.

You can use this to search on a home not only in Houston, Texas but anywhere in the United States.
