Grand Parkway Expansion - Nancy Wey

Grand Parkway Expansion

For those of you who travel in the west Houston area, you'll know how pleased people were to see the opening of yet the next section of the Grand Parkway: the new 15-mile, four-lane toll road linking the communities of Katy and Cypress, providing nonstop travel between I-10 and US 290. One client proudly boasted that it took her "12 minutes to get from Cypress to Katy"! Katy residents and students at A&M are relieved to see that commute shorten even further with the nonstop road up to 290 -- now eliminating back roads and out of the way roads. If you haven't driven on the parkway, give it a try now, in the month of January, while it's free! The tolls begin February 1, and amounts depend upon the distance traveled. All tolls will be collected electronically on the high-tech toll road as no manned tollbooths are included. Any of the three Texas toll tags (TxTag, EZ TAG and TollTag) will be accepted.
