Friend, let’s have a real conversation.

Single mothers are not bad with money. We are just stretched. There is a difference. Before you buy a house, we are going to do something that feels grounded. We are going to look at your money without emotion.

Step One: Track Everything for 60 Days

Not guessing or estimating, but tracking.

Write down:
• Rent
• Utilities
• Car payment
• Insurance
• Groceries
• Subscriptions
• Hair
• Nails
• Amazon
• School activities
• Random Target runs

You need the real number friend.

Step Two: Create Three Buckets

  1. Survival
    Housing, utilities, food, insurance.

  2. Future
    Savings, debt payoff, home fund.

  3. Life Happens
    Birthdays, sports, holidays, school trips.

If you do not budget for life happens, it steals from your future.

Step Three: Open a Separate “Home Fund” Account

Even if it starts with fifty dollars, name it something powerful:

One Income Reality Check

Lenders look at debt to income ratio. If your car payment is high and your credit cards are near the limit, that affects buying power. So before we shop for houses, we position your numbers. That is strength, not struggle.

This is your gentle reminder, you are a wise steward of what you have, and you are preparing for more.

Sis, Stop Renting.
