According to Good Morning America today and Gary Keller, author of the book "Shift," there are 5 tips for selling your home in today's market. Here they are:
1. Price - gets their interest
Price competitively in this market if you want to sell
2. Presentation/Staging - gets you offers
Declutter and rearrange - whatever it takes to appeal to the most people -
Hire a Stager if needed - your home needs to stand out from the crowd
3. Photos are priceless -
If you are selling in the winter, have photos of your home when it's in bloom
and the pool is sparkling
4. Don't be cheap -
Fix leaky faucets and make minor repairs. Also, replace old appliances
with new ones - less expensive new ones are better than old ones
5. Be there -
Now, I disagree with this one! It makes buyers uncomfortable to look
at a home with the owner there. I suggest having your Realtor be present
because they should know as much about your home as you do and they
can present the information
