The link above will lead to several articles from the New York Times Magazine reviewing some innovative ideas that sprang up during 2009. There are 2 very interesting articles. The first being on the future of the Cul de Sac - does it have a future?
The second article is about the sink of the future. This sink is actually designed to put out fires in your kitchen. The kitchen is the most likely place for a home fire to start and this new device is touted to be able to put the kitchen fire out in a matter of minutes.
