Paint - Pretty Up - DeClutter

According to an article by Tim McKeough in the New York Times Magazine (see link below), you may not need to remodel your kitchen in order to sell your home. Yes, kitchens and baths can make or break a sale. However, if you spend a significant amount of money to renovate your kitchen you may not get all of your money back and it could be that your decorating taste does not match that of the buyers.
So Tim suggests you DeClutter, Paint and Pretty-It-Up. Choose a soft neutral color for the paint and declutter with a capital "D." Put out a few "pretty" items to make it look welcoming such as a bowl of colorful fruit or a cookbook or a candle, etc. Remember to keep the countertops very clean and sparse so the buyer can see just how much counter space you have.
