Hello Houston,
Have you been enjoying these past two days of beautiful weather?? I have and I am encouraged to go shopping. I've noticed the 2018 spring trends in fashion and can't help but to also consider these trends in my home too.
If you want to showcase your home now, why not add a touch of spring to your home? One of the trends is 'polka dots' and 'gingham' patterns. Replace your couch cushions with fun, trendy patters. Lighten up and replace your 'heavy, dark' curtains with sheer ones too. This will allow the natural light to flood your space.
Put away your 'throws' and 'area rugs'. If your floors are tile or wood, you get to show them off.
You know those pretty plates with the floral patterns that you put away last fall? Remember to switch them out and put them back on the table. This may inspire to add another touch of spring to your home.
It doesn't take a ton of money or time when making these small changes to your house, especially if it is going on the market to sell. Buyers will enjoy walking through your space and may not want to leave. This is usually a great sign that you will get an offer soon.
Take a morning to pressure wash your driveway, windows and outside walls and if possible, the inside of your garage floor.
Curb appeal is most important to the buyer. If the buyer doesn't like the outside, they may not make it to the inside. Trimming away any dead leaves and limbs is a great start. Adding mulch to your flower beds is a another great touch. No flower beds, no problem! Consider adding a couple of flower pots filled with colorful flowers by your front door. If you can't find your favorite flower, find some pots that have colorful designs painted on them. Speaking of the front door, how about replacing the sconce to a more updated version? It will make a world of difference to those walking up to the entrance. Add some color to your front door. Some bold colors that I have seen in Houston neighborhoods are yellow, blue, orange, black and the most popular - R E D. I've also seen pastel colors such as buttery yellow, sky blue and a bright white that screams C L E A N.
Transition into Spring with your fashion and don't forget your house, especially when thinking about selling.
