The millennial generation provides the largest pool of potential buyers out there, and anyone selling a home needs to consider their needs when renovating.

Millennials are saturated with choices and info on the internet, and that showsin their search process. They want to find a home that is turn-key,and don't settle for just good enough. They can by finicky and if your home doesn't meet their needs they will move on.

Thinking about renovating? try focusing on these areas to attract young buyers:

Make Your Home Smarter

The National Association of Home Builders says 2/3 of millennials think that smart tech is a good investment and will offer up to 3% more for such features. Having systems &appliances with smart technology and energy efficiency is a big plus.

Have Outdoor Entertaining Space

Millennialsare looking for homes with some landscaping as well asentertaining space outside. Nothing extravagant required,a simple setup with a deck or patio that has room for a grill, table, and chairs will suffice.

Useable Office Space

Today's job market includes more jobs with flexible work hours and "at home" work polocies. Sellers should consider millennials need for telecommuting space. Itcan be relatively inexpensive to convert a space into a home office. Even a built-in "computer nook" area can meet this need.

Separate the Utility Room

Millennial buyers want to keep the primary living area detached from the laundry. In fact, itis so important to have a detached launrdy room, that 55% said they wouldn't even think about buying a home without one. A staggering number for a renovation that is also cost efficient.
