Did you shop on Cyber Monday? Are you familiar with porch pirates?  It may not be too late to take steps to keep your Cyber Monday deliveries safe from the dread ‘Porch Pirates’. If you have not set up a strategy to secure your super bargain deliveries take steps now.  Below are a few tips to keep your deliveries safe from prowling opportunists.

The US Postal Service will always use the neighborhood package lockbox for package delivery if that is available.  In some neighborhoods they will leave a ‘Sorry we missed you’ slip that notifies you that a package can be picked up at a later date. If you are in a neighborhood that does receive packages on your porch you can submit an on-line request that packages be held  for pick-up. You can also schedule re-delivery of your packages on-line for convenience.  Best of all these are free options offered by the USPS.

The United Parcel Service allows you the flexibility to reschedule, redirect and other options for secure delivery when you sign up for UPS My Choice. Some options are a fee for service.

FedEx has a complete suite of on-line delivery solutions. The options they offer to ensure that your delivery arrives where and when you want. FedEx offers most of these options for no additional fees.
