Johnson Acquires 590-acre Richmond Land for New Community

Johnson Development Corp. has purchased a 590-acre property in Richmond to build a master-planned community with up to 2,500 new homes.

The land is at the northwest corner of Williams Way Boulevard and U.S. 59 near a historic town center in Richmond. Development will begin by mid-2016 with construction of new homes to begin in 2017.

Johnson Development, along with IHP Capital Partners, acquired the property from the Henderson-Wessendorff Foundation of Richmond. Financing for the transaction is being provided by Trustmark Bank.

The Henderson-Wessendorff Foundation  owns an adjacent 800 acres on the north side of Williams Way Boulevard, where it  plans to create a nature preserve and tourism center.

The community will be Johnson's seventh in Fort Bend County, joining Sienna Plantation, Riverstone, Cross Creek Ranch, Imperial and the new Harvest Green and Jordan Ranch.
