So you like Pecan Lakes Estates? So do we! We liked it so much, we sold our house (for 150% of its purchase price!) in south College Station to build our retirement home on the 18th fairway. Yes, we considered College Station-Bryan golf course communities, but they weren't the right fit for us.
Jay and I are Houston natives. I was born at Herman Hospital and briefly attended Waltrip High School, and Jay attended Spring High School and Westfield High School. I moved from Conroe to College Station in 2002 and taught in Bryan ISD. Jay's parents bought their 400+ acres ranches here in Navasota in 1984. We love Aggieland, and my church there of 17 years, but we are solidly expectant about our investment in Navasota, just as Jay's parents were in 1984.
Holy cow! Do you realize what we have here? Draw a circle on a map from Aggieland to Houston. We are the center of our little universe!
If the Texas High Speed Rail succeeds, the train station will be 26 miles east. Brazos Valley residents will be able to travel quickly to Houston or Dallas, where they can catch an Uber or the light rail to an Astros or Texans game, the Hobby Center or the Alley Theatre.
If the Texans Against High Speed Rail succeed in thwarting the rail land grab, we will keep 108,000 acres of prime Texas ranch land in the hands of Texans, saved from eminent domain grabbing by the DC federales.
