Preparing your Home for Sale

Now that it is officially a seller's market it is a great time to put your house on the market if you have been thinking of selling. But before you do that you need to make a 'To Do' list of things that will make your house attractive to a buyer and get you the best possible price. It is a good idea to go through your house room by room and take notes of things that need to be fixed. De-cluttering and cleaning is a good place to start. Paint is another cheap option which makes a big impact. Whites and pastels make a place look clean and large by reflecting light, on the other hand painting neutrals like tans and grays can give the place warmth and an updated feel. It is a good idea to get some sample paints and paint a fairly substantial area on the wall and see how it looks in the day light and at night. You can paint the trim and crown moldings in a different color for contrast or match it to give a more specious look.
