New things are coming to the Cypress area in 2017. Several master planned communities have attracted retail businesses and begun expansion to allow for more homes. Master planned communities are what has shaped Cypress from the mostly rural area it was before 1990 into the modern suburb it is now.
Town Lake Shopping Center has finished leasing spaces to businesses along their waterway including shops, restaurants and medical offices and a fitness studio. The goal is to create a central location within Cypress for people to gather.
The Bridgeland community has grown to attract it’s own Cypress Fairbanks schools and a campus of Houston’s First Baptist Church. Lakeland Village Center is only 54% occupied leaving plenty of room for more retailers to move in for the community to enjoy. A new residential area, Parkland Village is in development his year, also.
Fairfield Town Center is already at 94% capacity and provides shopping and dining for the grown in neighborhoods in Cypress up to Fairfield. Phase 2 will begin building this year.
The Northwest corner of SH 290 and FM 1960 will soon be home to Cypress Crossings, a retail center to be completed by 2017 last quarter and with retailers opening in early 2018.
The Cypress Creek Flood Control has begun a Greenway project spanning a section of Cypress Creek. The 40 mile area includes Cypress Creek at SH 290 to where Cypress Creek and Spring Creek converge and includes the Kickerillo-Misher Preserve and adding a trail.
Memorial Hermann has announced a new hospital with room for a neonatal ICY Unit and cardiac lab. The targeted opening in March, 31st.
Lastly, a bit of Cypress history is returning this year. Tin Hall, the area’s oldest dance hall is returning! Ownership has returned to the previous owner and projects are in the works to make it a restaurant.
