The short answer

Cross Creek Ranch is zoned to two school districts, Katy ISD and Lamar Consolidated ISD. Which one your home falls in depends on its exact spot in the community. The older sections on the east side are generally Katy ISD, with schools right inside the neighborhood that kids can walk or bike to. The newer sections on the west side are generally Lamar CISD, served by Fulshear High School and campuses within about two miles of the front entrance. Before you buy, confirm the exact address with the district, because zoning can shift year to year as the area grows.

Which part of Cross Creek Ranch goes to which district

Cross Creek Ranch is one of the larger master-planned communities in the Fulshear and Katy corridor, and it is big enough to sit in two districts at once. Here is how it breaks down today.

Katy ISD sections (generally the east, earlier-built side):

  • Randolph Elementary, on-site
  • Campbell Elementary, on-site
  • Adams Junior High, on-site
  • Jordan High School

The Katy ISD schools sit inside the community. Because of the trail system and the pedestrian bridges, many of these kids walk or bike to school, which is rare in a suburb this size.

Lamar CISD sections (generally the newer west side):

  • Randle Elementary and Huggins Elementary, depending on your section
  • Roberts Middle School
  • Dean Leaman Junior High
  • Fulshear High School

The Lamar CISD campuses are a short drive from the entrance, most within about two miles.

I have helped buyers on both the Katy ISD and Lamar CISD sides of Cross Creek Ranch, and families have been glad they landed here either way. The right side for you comes down to your own priorities and what you find when you compare the schools for yourself.

How to decide which side fits your family

The honest answer is that it depends on your priorities, and the decision is yours to make. My job is to hand you the resources and let you compare, not to decide for you.

Compare the current ratings and scores yourself. School data changes year to year, so look at the latest figures for the specific campuses. Two places I usually point people:

  • GreatSchools.org
  • The school info on HAR.com

You can also check ratings and report cards straight from the Texas Education Agency at txschools.gov.

One practical, factual note on price. Homes zoned to Jordan High School can run a bit higher than homes zoned to Fulshear High School. If price is your biggest factor, the Fulshear-zoned side may be the better fit for your budget. I am happy to pull recent sales on both sides so you can see the difference in real numbers.

Then verify the zoning for the exact address. It is drawn by location, and it can change as the area grows and new schools open.
