Situated in Fort Bend County, Texas Sugar Land got its name because the land was originally massive sugar plantations. The area grew steadily into a company town and acquired the status of a city in 1959. Ever since, the city has continued to grow – economically, culturally and industrially. Sugar Land has contributed to the population growth of Texas. It attracts people from all around the country because of its reputation of being one of the safest cities in the USA. You can experience the ever-evolving, constantly developing food scene in Sugar Land. Plus, the sugary treats are a must when in Sugar Land. 2. Regional parks Fun fact: Sugar Land is home to the third-largest Pecan tree in the entire state! Sugar Land offers its residents every chance to get out and get fit with its parks. Be it the Duhacsek Park spanning over an area of 50 acres; home to hand-grafted pecan trees, or, the Oyster Creek Park with its thunderous biking and hiking tracks, there is something for every age group.

6. Community life As is a norm in the greater Houston areas, people are very hospitable and believe in coming together in times of need or hardship – as they did during the pandemic. The local community is big on fairs too. Heritage Hike, the Cultural Kite Festival, and the Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair are the most popular.

8. Geographical location Houston, the fuel which drives Texas' economy is located 30-35 minutes away from Sugar Land.
