You've heard the expression you can't judge a book by its cover, right? Well, you certainly can't judge a book by its exterior! Here are reasons why a home inspection is a MUST when making the biggest purchase of your life.

Costly problems can go unseen for many years. An inspector will do a thorough check for any safety, structural, or functional issues that may soon become your headache.

You may spend several hundred dollars on the inspection, but knowing what is wrong with a home upfront will save you money in the long run, especially if the seller is willing to cover the cost of some of those repairs.

Any defects or issues can be written into the contract for sale as conditions for the seller before you purchase the property. Knowledge gained from the inspection provides bargaining power!

Finally, completing an inspection during your option period provides you with valuable information and can help you determine whether you cancel a contract or move forward with the transaction.

Did your home inspection uncover some hidden issues? I've heard of some real doozies!?
