Did you purchase a new house this summer, but it still doesn't feel like yours? Fall is a great time to turn a house into home! Dust off your crafting supplies, add a little landscaping details, and host a get together or two, to get this season started off.

Pinterest may have a host of projects to try, but how can you narrow it down to just a few items? Let me help with that! An easy decorating idea for those of use who aren't crafty, switching out floral arrangements is a quick and easy way to incorporate fall colors into your home. Stop by one of the big box stores and pick up a variety of florals to create a fall floral arrangement. Create coordinating arrangements for the main rooms in the home, where you and guests may enjoy time togther. For those of you with the crafty gene, take it up a notch and incorporate pinecones, pumpkins and cornicopias for vases. Get creative! Best part of this? The florals last longer than a week, and can stay in your home all season long!

Maybe florals aren't your style, but the house needs something fall oriented. If you enjoy candles, all you need is cinnamon sticks, unscented candles, glue gun and twine. In a quick 5 minutes, glue the cinnamon sticks to your candle and wrap it up in a twine bow! Enjoy the fresh scent, ambience of the candle, and the little hint of fall in your home.

Once the interior is spiced up, don't forget about the outside! Neighbors want to enjoy fall decor too! Try something simple like putting out fresh mulch, or precious potted plants. Fall is a great time for mums, pumkpins, and fothergilla. By using pots instead of landscape beds, makes it easy to change out colors for the seasons! Don't forget to reseed, aeroate, and remove leaves. Keep the leaves for mulch and DIY crafts!

Now, the interior is decorated, the exterior is well maintained and festive, what happens next? Time to enjoy the home with friends and family! Invite them over for a football game, or maybe to test out that new hot tub. New to the area? It's a great time to get to know the neighbors! Hand deliver invites to everyone on the street and enjoy their company. What a great way to get to know your neighbors, and share decorating and home maintenance tips!

After searching for the perfect home and preparing your home for the holidays, enjoy it! You deserve it!

Happy Fall Y'all!
